SCHOOL PHASES
The Foundation Phase is a 4 year stage of development for children aged 6 to 9 years. The children start this phase in the year that they turn 6 and then every year older brings the adventure of a new grade.
Located in its own section of the school building, the Foundation Phase covers Grade R, 1, 2 and 3. Pupils have their own class teacher who has them for most lessons, but there are also specialist teachers for Music, Drama and Sport. Pupils in the Foundation Phase enjoy Interactive Boards and technology is thoroughly integrated into the Phase curriculum. Lessons in each of these grades are enhanced by the use of laptops.
The Foundation Phase is the first time that boys and girls get to experience competitive sport with regularly scheduled hockey, cricket, soccer and netball fixtures. Everyone gets a chance to play for the school.
